A hand-wrought sterling silver shield ring set with an oval Royston turquoise stone, its soft green face with subtle matrix, placed in a smooth straight bezel. The tall rectangular shield face is densely hand-stamped across its entire surface, arrow and traditional motifs radiating outward from the stone with a scalloped border framing the face top to bottom. The four-prong split shank fans out from beneath in open parallel bands, each carrying stamp work that tapers and narrows toward the bottom, giving the whole ring a sense of movement from the bold face down to the base. Finished with a deep aged patina that pools into every impression and gives the piece its worn, collected character. One of a kind, now held in a private collection.
