Stone Story

Carico Lake Turquoise comes from Lander County, Nevada, and is one of the more diverse stones in American turquoise. Its color ranges widely — from warm greens and blue-greens to deeper blues — often with rich matrix running through it. That variety is part of what makes it interesting; no two pieces read the same. The Carico Lake mine has never been a high-volume producer, which makes the stone genuinely rare. What does come out of the ground tends to go fast, and pieces set with Carico Lake are among the most sought-after by collectors who know what they're looking at.
